The internet is the main medium which the Men’s Rights Movement (MRM) uses to spread its message. However, there has never been a system to measure how well the MRM is spreading its message through the internet (and in connection with this, the overall strength of the MRM on the internet). That is why I have now devised a system for this very purpose, which I dub “The Luke S. Report”.
This report includes the Alexa Traffic Rankings and numbers of unique visitors (according to TrafficEstimate.com) of the top 10 antifeminist and MRA websites on the internet, which receive (according to my calculations) an estimated 73.9% of the traffic of all MRA/antifeminist websites on the internet.
By analyzing these top 10 trendsetters on a weekly and/or monthly basis, we can come up with an evaluation of how well over time the MRM is spreading its message, and of the overall strength of the MRM on the internet, over time.
So without further ado here is the first set of data:

For this first set of data, all the sites’ Alexa rankings and TrafficEstimate scores have “NC” next to them. This stands for “no change”. For the first edition of “The Luke S. Report”, all of the sites have “NC” for their Alexa rankings and their TrafficEstimate scores, but in the future, The Luke S. Report will include the numerical as well as percent changes from previous measurements of the Alexa rankings and TrafficEstimate scores.
Now there isn’t too much we can tell right away, since this is only the first reading, but there is one very useful thing which we can do right away. We can attempt a comparison of the overall strength of the MRM on the internet with the overall strength of our opponents, the feminists, on the internet.
Note that the readings in the following chart are actually Dec. 6 readings, except for ladiesagainstfeminism.com, which is a Dec. 13 reading. (A Dec. 6 reading was not taken for ladiesagainstfeminism.com). But this should be okay in the context of this comparison.

*I find this reading to be doubtful, because google.com got a score of 332,068,000, and if this reading is correct, it would mean that this site got over a quarter as much traffic as Google did over the same period, which I find doubtful given both common sense and their Alexa rating. For the purposes of my calculation of their total unique visitors, I used 58,450, which is the mean of the traffic estimates for feministe.us, which is immediately above them in the ranking, and amptoons.com, which is immediately below them.
A quick glance at these two tables is misleading if one does not take into consideration that the MRM experiences a “dropoff” after its 10th largest website (its 11th largest website, antimisandry.com, has an Alexa ranking of 1,254,137, and its number of unique visitors per 30 days cannot be estimated by TrafficEstimate.com because the site is too small.) The feminists do not experience such a “dropoff” until significantly later (as in about 6 sites later).
Even so, most MRA’s were shocked to see how evenly matched the MRM was with the feminists, and it showed us that we were in way better competition with the feminists than any of us had henceforth thought.
Most of all, these results will come as a nasty shock that will bring back down to Earth feminists who still unto this day cluelessly brag that MRA websites are “echo chambers” and “not in the same league” as feminist sites.
UPDATE – 12/20/07: I now have the second set of data.
(I’ve posted it below another copy of the first dataset, so that they may be easily compared).

Technical Section:
Note: The remainder of this article is a technical section (written along with the original article on 12/13/07) that explains how I derived this system, and how this system holds up mathematically and statistically. Readers who are less math-oriented can stop reading now if they wish.
Now, it may initially look like I’m trying to ramrod a tool which really should be used for analyzing the stock market or economy into analyzing MRA websites. And although I did indeed take a lot of inspiration from the S&P 500, the fact is that mathematically the same strategy works out just fine for analyzing the strength of the MRM on the internet, and how well the MRM is getting its message out through the internet.
In the last 30 days, as of 12/15/07, the MRA website Siberia Rocks! received 4,348 views. According to Alexa, the 3-month estimate for views-per-user was 5.0 (as of 12/15/07), so assuming that value for 1-month (and that’s really the only semi-major assumption I make during this entire analysis, and it is a valid one), the MRA website Siberia Rocks! gets 869 unique viewers for one month, or approx. 30 days.
From internal data which has been collected by the MRM, that there are approx. 200 active MRA sites on the internet.
And we also know that the MRA website Siberia Rocks! is above average in Alexa rank, and in amount of traffic (which is a quantity connected with Alexa rank) within the set of all active MRA sites. We can show this through statistical procedures. We do this by taking a random sample of 80 MRA sites, and comparing them with Siberia Rocks! in terms of Alexa traffic rank. The results of this test were that 33 of them had Alexa ranks less than that of Siberia Rocks!, and 47 of them had Alexa ranks greater than that of Siberia Rocks!. The data were then entered into a statistical analysis program, giving all sites which had Alexa rankings less than Siberia Rocks! a value of -1, and all sites which had Alexa rankings greater than Siberia Rocks! a value of +1, and ran a 1-sample hypothesis test on them, with alpha value = 0.1 (which is good enough for our purposes). The hypothesis being tested was: “If all active MRA sites with Alexa ranks greater than that of Siberia Rocks! were given values of +1, and all active MRA sites with Alexa ranks less than that of Siberia Rocks! were given values of -1, then the mean of this population of all the values corresponding to all active MRA sites is significantly greater than 0.” The result of the test was that the population mean was indeed significantly greater than 0. This of course means that statistically, the test concluded that there were more MRA sites with greater Alexa rankings than Siberia Rocks! Now, in making this conclusion, the software program that was used assumes a large population (in the statistical sense of the term). But as was mentioned before, there are 200 MRA websites. So if the results were significantly less than the test mean for a large population, then it is logical to conclude that they were significantly less than the test mean for a population of 200 units.
So therefore it is mathematically sound to conclude that Siberia Rocks! receives an above-average traffic ranking, and thereby an above-average amount of traffic over a period of 30 days, among all MRA websites. But to be conservative, we will use its Alexa traffic ranking, and its amount of traffic which it receives over a period of 30 days, as the median.
Now, since the distribution of Alexa ranks is skewed to the left, and the distribution of amounts of site traffic is skewed to the right (i.e., there are more smaller MRA sites than there are larger ones), the median of the distribution of Alexa ranks is smaller than the mean, and the median of the distribution of amounts of site traffic is larger than the mean. But as we are attempting a very conservative estimate of the mean, we will assume that the mean is equal to the mean in both cases (doing this makes our estimate more, and not less, conservative).
So we have that 869 unique views is the mean number of unique visitors per 30 days of an MRA website.
So out of those ~190 sites that we have not chosen, we will assume that they all received the mean value of unique visitors over the last 30 day period. So the total number of unique visitors that the non-chosen sites received was 165,110 according to this estimate. If we add up the total number of unique visitors according to TrafficEstimate.com of the 10 sites which were selected, we get 467,700.
So the ratio of unique visitors to these top 10 sites per 30 days to unique visitors to all MRA sites per 30 days is 73.9%, according to our estimate.
So as I said at the beginning, if we can keep an eye on how these top 10 trendsetters, which get 73.9% of the internet traffic that the MRM gets, are doing, then we have a way to gauge the MRM’s effectiveness in getting its message out through the internet (its main medium), and of course the overall strength of the MRM on the internet.
