If I was to burn a flag, a symbol of the hopes and aspirations of a nation or a group, I would be saying more about myself and my attitude than anything else..

If those folk whose symbol is violated where to do nothing..

They would have the moral high ground..

They have supported the freedom they stand for, even at a cost to themselves..?

If they were to react angrily and oppress me for my symbolic protest, they would most certainly NOT have any moral high ground, indeed, they would show that they will oppress a person and violate his freedom. Paradoxically showing that they do not support freedom. And that would make a mockery of their symbol of freedom.. which is, after all, a symbol, not a person..

The US is very much part of the UN, and indeed, the US takes a great interest in what is going on in other nations, often unilaterally.

No, because first of all the UN isn’t a country, and secondly I didn’t burn it when I was on the UN’s territory.

I don’t believe in extraterritorial laws in either the UN’s case or in the case of what I proposed in this article. Meaning that under the system that I propose in this article, somebody who burns a US flag over in France for example cannot be hauled over to the US in order to be prosecuted.

All evidence I ever saw there was that some of the posters have libertarian leanings (Or did have, they have succeeding in driving out and banning most of them).

Mobs used to round up German Americans and force them to kiss the flag and sing the national anthem in front of everyone during WWI to prove that they were loyal to America, and not to Germany. And the German Americans didn’t even burn a flag or anything. So all I’m adding on from what’s already been done in the past is saying the pledge of allegiance to the president, and kissing a picture of the president.

And unlike back then, I’m proposing this only to be done to those who burn the flag. Not to anyone just for being a certain ethnicity.

A flag is a symbol of a country, and burning it should give time in jail. We agree on that.

A president is nothing but an idiot who claims to support a given ideology, when in fact, all he supports is his and his homies’ interests. And I mean “idiot” regardless of political party.

What checks and balances are there to prevent the president from screwing up? None. Is the president uncapable of screwing up? No. So why should Americans pledge allegiance to the President?
