The same person who had attacked this site on two previous occasions by maliciously telling everyone my name (which is very important that it be kept confidential for the sake of my personal security on the internet) through the comments has returned, and has now used the poll site to tell everyone my name, and also used the meebo connected to this site to viciously insult me.
His attacks all took the same form. He would go onto this website and say on the comments: “Luke Skywalker is xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx”. (xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx being of course my full first and last name).
The first time he did this, I politely asked him not to do it again. He ignored me and did it again a day later.
Then I changed the commenting settings so that I would have to approve every comment before it would show up on the site. This stopped him for about a month.
However my poll is on another site, and I do not control that site’s commenting features. He used this fact to disclose my personal identity to the public once again through the poll site a few hours ago tonight. He also went onto the Meebo instant chat tonight and used it to label me with derogatory terms, including “infant”.
I have the IP address from his first two attacks. Undoubtably the third tonight came from the same person.
I could see through the opening numbers of the IP address that the attacks were coming from a college student account at the college that I go to.
I am offering a $60.00 reward for his correct identification.

I’ve decided that I’m no longer offering the money, because I figure at this point after 2 1/2 months after the incidents if we haven’t found out who this guy is, we pretty much won’t ever. Also he hasn’t attacked for 2 1/2 months, so he’s probably totally done with his little games. Thus I’m calling it quits with the reward and with searching for him. (I hadn’t actively searched for him for 2 months, anyway.) In this spirit, I’m renaming this post “The Kid Who Attacked The Blog”, because that title implies that this event is totally done and over with (which it is).

The last half of the attacker’s IP is 159.66, and came from the attacker’s school account. If you go to the school, you should know what the first half is. I cannot post this first half anymore due to security risks.
I know that there are more than a few people at my school who are able to find out people’s identities given their school IP address, or that know someone who can.
Once you have identified him, privately (ie not on the blog or anywhere public) tell me, and I will take it from there.
How will I know that the identity is correct once you give it to me? Because I have a pretty good idea of who is doing it even without the IP address.
Believe me, I’m a man of my word. You give me his name, and I’ll give you the money, no questions asked.
However, since I am offering a significant amount of money, one stipulation that I have is that I will need to personally look at the software and/or procedures that you used to identify him. (ie I will need to personally come to your room and see the IP address along with the name on your computer screen).
Note: If you are one of the college or other authorities and you are reading this: please, please do not take insult at the fact that I am choosing to use other resources besides those provided by the College in order to identify my attacker. Internet security risks, like having one’s name or personal information consistently revealed to the public on the internet by a malicious attacker, are very, very serious and must be taken care of with the utmost speed and efficiency. Thus, I am unleashing the power of the free market in order to get this done with the necessary speed and efficiency, which are unfortunately not available to me using official College resources and procedures.
Once I have his identity, I will turn it over to you, the authorities, without the slightest of hesitation.
In the meantime, I do not want this incident to discourage people from voting in the poll, so feel free to go on it and vote.
Another Note: I have asked for a moderator from the polling site to please remove my name from the poll comments, where the attacker has listed it. However, since this polling site is a rather small site, I don’t know how long its going to be before a moderator sees my request. So if you see my name on there, just don’t blab it to everyone else.
Friendly advice: If you don’t want everyone to know your name, don’t tell everyone where to find it. I would never have seen it if you hadn’t said it was on the poll site.
Misha, the damage has already been done. Everybody who goes on that poll site to take the poll would have seen my name on there whether or not I told them it was there. I am aware of the fact that there will be some additional people who will go on there just to see what my name is, but that is a necessary trade-off because I wanted to give a very specific account of my attacker’s exact actions against me.
Misha, you have to realize that this is only the tip of the iceberg. There are about 4 or 5 people at my college who seriously hate my guts for who I am and what I do.
As I have said before, I have gotten much stronger and more mature in the last two years. For an entire year noone has come up to me and tried to mess with me directly or even semi-directly (like some people did to me my freshman year) because of the reputation that I have gained for being tough and taking no nonsense, and doubtless they never will again. This leaves a “roundabout snipe” through a computer network as the only way that they have to mess with me.
And they have done this successfully before: last year in March 2006 these 4 or 5 individuals managed to get me perminently banned from my school’s file sharing service through lies and deceit that they sent to the owner of the service. And even when the owner of the service had deleted me from his banfile in the beginning of September 2006, they managed to convince him to perminently ban me again three weeks later, and I have been banned ever since.
Their manipulations, lies, and deceit have made me the only student in my college’s history to have ever been banned from a school file sharing service.
Needless to say, this is only one example of the malicious things that this group of people has done to me.
That being said, I am convinced that one of these 4 or 5 individuals is the one who is attacking my site. And I have their IP address from their attacks to prove it.
Misha, the main issue here is not the name. That poll where he has put the name, designed to be a week-long poll, has only about 5 more days left on it, then I will post the results and remove the link to it. The main issue here is that this guy has attacked me and this site three times, and thus he must be identified and taken to the authorities. Because in truth this is the only way to prevent him from causing even worse damage. And knowing the things that these 4 or 5 people have done to me and have tried to do to me throughout the years here it is indisputible that he will do something much worse if he is not stopped now.

I usually never post with my real name, but Kara is my real name. I dont’ think there’s any shame in it, as I was always taught that if you were to do something, then if the time comes you have to stand up for it and admit to it. There’s no use in saying something, and then trying to hide.
Of course you will get people who attack you, but they’re doing this out of fear or hate, and you do what you do out of love. It’s like dating in the American scene!

I, too, am a ********** kid — a current student, in fact. And while I appreciate the presence of unusual viewpoints on campus, I have to wonder why ************* was willing to let you attend. One of the salient characteristics of students here is that they are accepting and supportive of diverse people. They certainly debate, but they are usually respectful and almost never bigoted.
Your comments about feminism, your generalizations about Western women, and other elements of this blog (which I don’t want to waste my time reading any more than I already have) are pretty darn offensive. Reprehensible, even. (I’m all for being offended — being offended leads to interesting examinations of one’s own preconceptions. So there’s nothing really wrong with being offensive.)
I’m a “Western woman.” I don’t complain all the time, and I hate almost all television. I have fairly regular features, and I’m considered attractive by many. I just read the entry that actually explains the “rape phone” thing, and I have to apologize for my previous comments. I think you have a point in saying that the phones give the completely inaccurate impression that the woods are full of rapists ready to pounce on the next unsuspecting female. Most rapes are, of course, date and acquaintance rape, and I’d be willing to bet that ********** has a very low incidence of rape. But the phones do have other safety-related uses, and the INTENDED PURPOSE of the phones is not to “create an atmosphere of distrust” — it’s to get parents to send their kids here. Because, as I mentioned before, it’s such a trend to have these things, it would seem lax for a college not to install them.
Also, Russian chicks ARE pretty smokin’. But many of them are average, and many American women are just as attractive.
Finally, I’d like to point out that I am a feminist who loves to cook, clean, and sew. And I’m not a man-hater — I ADORE males. I identify with them, I communicate well with them, and I think they’re just as oppressed by society’s expectations as women are. I love caring for AND being cared for by my boyfriend, Patriot. (Yep. I’m going to post on this thread one last time, ’cause I’m not sure exactly where it would be more appropriate to respond.
It’s very true that psychologists and the field of psychology itself hold concepts of what is “normative” and what’s not. I agree with some of these concepts, but most of them are pretty shoddily supported by data — they’re subjective, and, often, even narrow-minded.
But the cool thing about psychotherapy (and its less-hardcore cousin, counseling) is that in most circumstances, it’s voluntary. You can request different levels of verbal feedback from your counselor, including NONE, and if you ever feel like you’re being “brainwashed,” you can tell the counselor and he or she will stop if he or she has any professional integrity, or you can just walk out the door.
Additionally, you can choose what feedback to accept and what feedback to reject. It’s clear that you, Luke, are a person who wouldn’t be very suceptible to brainwashing, since you’re so quick to question the ideology of the masses. So all I’m saying is that you should CONSIDER heading up to the counseling center and having a chat. I don’t think you have anything to be afraid of. It can’t hurt to have more information, as long as you don’t absorb that information blindly.

Merely writing something will NOT change somebody’s mind. It may open it to a new area of thought, but it’s up to them to explore that.
Now, your comments are degenerating faster than I can type. Personal insults, accusations and character assassinations are not acceptable under any arguement. I think you have good intentions, but the way you write, with the omissions of details and quick jumps through logic are hurting your cause. How will anyone believe you if you cannot write in such a way that draws the reader into either understandment or eventual agreement? In a way that insults generally and not specifically?
You NEED to understand that simply spewing words will get you nowhere. That is why there are few great poets, and even fewer spectacular ones.
Take this advice with a grain of salt, you need to learn these things early, or else you will drown in this.

What is laughable, Kitkat, was your continued insistance that I see a psychotherapist or a counselor. The upper-middle-class American obsession with psychotherapy and counselling is something that I know for a fact that many people who have less money to spend on such things find absurd.
The rate at which we as the American society are turning to psychotherapy to solve our problems is very alarming. I suggest you read the books “Sham: How the Self-Help Movement Made America Helpless” and “PC, M.D.”.
If you want to “stick a fork in” yourself, that’s fine. But don’t say that it was because I couldn’t form a cogent argument. I clearly can.
One of the things that will be important for me to do once I get to Siberia is to earn the respect of the locals. If they see me as a weak person who needs psychotherapy, then there will be absolutely no way that I can earn their respect.
